AVPL, Sarileru: Why Hike In Budget?

Top stars and star directors’ films and their remuneration is always a hot topic for discussion among movie lovers. Tollywood has around a dozen Star Heroes and similar number of directors. Everyone knows that both the heroes and directors should be paid whopping amounts in the big budget films. If the budget of a film is around Rs 100-120crs and if divided into three parts, one third of the budget goes to the remuneration of stars and the directors.

People go to theatres based on the stardom of the heroes and directors and so both get majority share in the film budget. Since producers too age going by demand and supply and going to the extent of paying those whopping amounts, stars and directors are having a free run. Producers are raising their voice only when their films turn out to be disasters at the box office.

Now inside talk is the remuneration of stars and directors of the upcoming Sankranti releases are shocking all. Mahesh Babu and Anil Ravipudi are getting astronomical remunerations for Sarileru Neekevvaru. Mahesh is not only getting remuneration but also getting rights of some regions and also share in the profits, while Anil Ravipudi is getting around Rs 10-12crs as remuneration.

Same is the case with Allu Arjun and Trivikram Srinivas' Ala Vaikunthapuramlo. Allu Arjun is getting around Rs 20-25crs and Trivikram Srinivas is getting around Rs 20crs as remuneration. So for both the films, one third of the budget is going to the remuneration of stars and directors. With rumors of stars getting rights of the films, the discussion about remuneration is shocking everyone.
