Female Version Of Kabir Singh Bombed, So

Arjun Reddy remake Kabir Singh divided the film fraternity vertically. While some blasted the misogynistic portrayal of the lead role, others supported them. 

Many like Samantha, Chinmayi Sripada, Taapsee attacked Kabir Singh's director Sandeep Reddy for the blatant glorification. They faced criticism for their double standards, but Taapsee who has been at the receiving end, blamed the movie lovers for the double standards. 

When asked whether she star in Kabir Singh female version , she said even before Kabir Singh, her character in Rumi resembled the female version of Kabir Singh.

Drawing a parallel she said, "She was probably not a female Kabir Singh but Manmarziyaan's Rumi Bagga was a flawed character too and ended up losing her love and getting divorced. The same misogynist people who didn’t see a problem with Kabir booed Rumi. We aren’t oblivious to the double standards of our society."
