Crowd puller tag is often associated with top stars in the industry. Irrespective of the performance of films, diehard fans throng theatres setting cash counters ringing. That is the reason why top stars select stories only for their fans and they have a minimum guarantee. But of late even star beauties are aspiring to become crowd pullers.
Female oriented films are not new to Tollywood. But actresses do such roles only after attaining stardom. However they have their own limitations as they do not have their own diehard fans. Producers too do not have confidence that seeing them, movie lovers throng theatres. Only if the film gets a good talk, collections may increase but they do not have the capability to trigger cash counters ringing. So the makers face budget constraints.
But star beauties are trying to set a new trend. Anushka did many powerful roles like Arundhati, Vedam, Panchakshari and came with films like Rudramadevi and Bhagamathie. At the time of Arundhati, Anushka was not a big star but the makers spent a bomb but got huge returns. Now the makers are coming forward to make Rs 30crs budget films and all this because of the hard earned stardom and fame by Anushka.
Samantha recently starred in Oh Baby. The film was made based on the stardom of Samantha. The film got good collections and got profits to producers. Taapsee of late has been doing female oriented films and has been scoring hits.
Keerthy Suresh showed her acting prowess in Mahanati and slowly she is becoming flag bearer as she lined up three female oriented films. Kajal and Tamannaah too are setting their sights on female oriented films.
