When Election Commission announced election dates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon all celebrities from various professions to bring in awareness among people to use their right to vote and play a key role in deciding the India’s future for the next five years. The PM on social media appealed to even King Nagrjuna among others to promote the right to vote campaign.
Many Tollywood celebrities made themselves free and cast their vote when the two Telugu states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh went to polling in the first phase of elections. However, Nagarjuna, whom PM Modi chose as the brand ambassador, shocked all by not practicing what he promised to preach. Instead he coolly started enjoying shooting for his next Manmadhudu 2 in the exotic locations of Portugal. A source shared, “He had already confirmed the dates for the Portugal leg of his forthcoming film Manmadhudu 2’s shoot and therefore, left without casting his vote.”
While his wife Amala, sons Naga Chaitanya, Akhil and daughter in law Samantha cast their votes, Nagarjuna escaping at the right moment did not find any support from the right thinking people. They are heard commenting that, ‘heavens wouldn’t have fallen had he postponed the schedule for a day or two.’
