October Girl Is Arjun Reddy’s Preethi

Kollywood was shocked by producer Mukesh R Mehta’s decision to shelve Varmaa, Tamil remake of Telugu super hit Arjun Reddy, and re-shoot the entire film with a new set of technicians. The scrapped version directed by Bala was scheduled for a Valentine’s Day weekend release.

Buzz is that Bala did not allow his producers or others to see the rushes even during post-production. The producer and his team were able to watch the final copy only a few days before censor, which is when they decided to scrap the film.

Tamil senior hero Vikram’s son Dhruv will be part of the fresh version to be directed by Girisayya, who worked as associate director to Sandeep Reddy Vanga for Arjun Reddy. Latest we heard is Banita Sandhu who played female lead in Bollywood critically acclaimed film October is finalized to play the role of Preethi essayed originally by Shalini Pandey.

Regular shoot of Varmaa will begin from March.
