Natural Star Nani did not have sweet memories in 2018. He realised how dangerous it is to tread the routine track with the results of his films Krishnarjuna Yuddham and Devadas. He is leaving no stone unturned so that routineness will not creep in, in his upcoming entertainer. Nani is currently starring in Jersey under the direction of Gautam Tinnanuri of Malli Raava fame. Nani is romancing Shradda Srinath in the film which also stars Satyaraj, Brahmaji and Rohit Kamra in key roles.

The makers released the first look and it generated tremendous interest. Nani is playing the role of a cricketer and will be seen in three different looks as a youngster, middle aged cricketer and an elder person. No where the makers revealed that they are inspired by any cricketer or the film is a biopic of some cricketer.

However director Gautam made it clear that the film is the life of a cricketer in the 90s. He recently said 36 year old youngster has nothing to prove as he already showed his mettle in the Ranji Trophy in 1996-1997. Cricket lovers remember that Raman Lamba scored 22 centuries and 5 double centuries in 87 firstclass matches.  He under difficult situations created a runs tsunami and entered into the Indian team and played a key role in 32 one days and 4 tests. Raman Lamba's track record at international level may not be that impressive but the emotional journey will connect chords with everyone and so Gautam selected his story for Jersey which is releasing in April.
