Vijay Deverakonda is a Notable star in Tamil, thanks to the super success of his last film Geetha Govindam in the neighboring state. Vijay’s previous film Arjun Reddy too received well in Tamil Nadu and the film is being remade there.
After testing his luck with dubbed films, Vijay is making his Tamil debut with Nota directed by Anand Shankar. The film co-starring Mehreen Kaur is slated for simultaneous release in Telugu and Tamil on 5th of this month.
It was predicted that, Vijay Deverakonda’s newfound stardom will bring him another hit in form of Nota in Tamil as well. But, it seems it isn’t that easy for the film to get huge openings, though it features Tamil popular faces such as Satyaraj and Nasser in important roles.
Nota will have a big threat with Vijay Sethupathi’s romantic entertainer 96 releasing tomorrow. Starring Trisha Krishnan in female lead role, 96 directed by Prem Kumar is carrying extreme positive reports. The film’s premiere shows were already screened in Chennai and talk is that the film will be a sure shot blockbuster and critics will give minimum of 3.5 to 4 star ratings.
Moreover, Vijay Sethupathi is a big star in Tamil with many hits to his credit. Even his recent outing Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is turning out as huge blockbuster in Tamil.
So, Nota can survive at Tamil box office; if and only if it gets positive talk post release, though the film has high chances to get heavy openings in Telugu states and Karnataka.
