The unilateral decision of selecting Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh by the the TDP government received brickbats from all corners then. Since the capital area is located in a three crop yielding land and is prone to natural disasters, it was thought Vizag or Kunrool could have been the best choices for AP's capital instead of Amaravati. Also, it was speculated that caste factors were behind Amaravati being announced for capital.

In an interesting development, BJP announced Rayalaseema declaration in the city of Kurnool. The declaration seeks Kurnool should be made as the second capital to AP and the high court should be set up in the city.

Now that Rayalaseema is one of the backward area of AP, Kurnool definitely deserves to be the second capital. Incidentally, another demand gets arisen from Vizag and surrounding areas people. According to them, Vizag is much better than any other cities to be the capital of AP. Accordingly, they demanded Vizag to be made as the second capital of AP, if not the first capital.

Meteorologists and other experts are sensing that three capitals for AP would be the best choice. They are suggesting that government's official activities can be made during summer season in Vizag, as the city records low temperatures in summer as well. "Since Amarati is a heated zone, it is unfit to be AP's capital. It at all, official transactions are done in winter season in the city, it would be an apt decision and Kurnool maybe preferred in rainy season," they said.
