Everyone knows a fact that senior Ntr immortalized the roles of Lord Krishna and Lord Rama on silver screen so much so that many of the audience of those days worshipped him as the Lord himself who descended down from heaven.

There was one instance when Ntr got angry with Lord Krishna. In 1970, a multi starrer film Sri Krishna Vijayam shoot was progressing in Madras. Ntr came out of car in Lord Krishna’s getup. MS Reddy who was producing the film on Kaumudi Productions received him warmly and everyone started wishing him.

In front of him was Naga Bhushanam in Lord Krishna’s getup seated on the throne. He did not get up like others did as he was busy preparing for shot. Ntr who got angry asked who that actor was and MS Reddy replied the name as Naga Bhushanam'.

Ntr shot back saying he was not asking the name of actor but why he was having conch, chakra and flute in his hands. MS Reddy said he is playing the role of Poundraka Vasudeva.

Ntr angered saying how can a film have two Krishnas when he is doing the role of Vasudeva. He further said, ‘I do not need this role and this crown and this getup. Bring back my pant and shirt and I will do Krishna’s role in pant and shirt.’

MS Reddy obediently replied, ‘Ok Sir. From tomorrow I will arrange a pant, shirt and with that you can kill Poundraka Vasudeva’s character with chakra.’

MS Reddy then explained Ntr that Bhagavatam has Poundraka Vasudeva who boasts himself as real Krishna and insults actual Lord Krishna. Finally Lord Krishna enters his place and kills him with chakra. Naga Bhushanam is doing the role of Poundraka Vasudeva.

Then Ntr satisfied with the explanation joined shoot.
