'Legend' Long Run! Deserved or Not?

Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna's 'Legend' movie is completing its 400 days run directly in Mini Shiva, Emmiganore of Kurnool district and in Archana theater of Proddatur with a single shift on 1st of May. The makers have planned a public function to celebrate the occasion in Emmiganore on May 2 and AP CM, Chandrababu Naidu will be attending as the chief guest of the function. 

Well, the makers have claimed that running this movie for 400 days is a rare record and gave the data of some of the movies' rare and the first ever run records such as, 'Balanagamma'( 1942)- first 100 days film, 'Pathalabhairavi'( 1951)- first 200 days film and 'Adaviramudu'( 1977)- first 300 days film. 

However, two of the movies( Pathalabhairavi and Adaviramudu) mentioned above are then industry hits while 'Balanagamma' was a classic that was remade many times in different languages.

According to the critics, 'Legend' cannot be compared to the statuses of the above movies and the movie has not stood as the biggest blockbuster of last year. Collections wise, the movie stood at number four among 2014's releases. Some more analysts are speculating that the exhibitors are the loyalists of TDP and so are running the movie seeking political gains. Movie lovers say, the era of running the movies for many days has been ended. On a whole, critics and anti fans unanimously feel that 'Legend' does not deserve for long run and there is no one to remember the records of ordinary super hit movies these days.

However, Nandamuri fans are jumping with joy with the record set by 'Legend'. They are hoping Balakrishna's upcoming film 'Lion' would also recreate the magic of 'Legend' and would transcend its run records.
