Great Fall of Fans?

A couple of years ago, when a top hero launched his new party, then ruling party's CM was worried of that hero and invited the Fans heads of that hero into his party offering some sops. In this case, those Fans were considered as silly or time pass or selfish Fans of that hero. In another case, a top hero's Fans filed a petition against their hero alleging their hero was doing liquor ads. In this case, the hero's Fans are grouped as publicity mongers. 

However, there are some Fans, who are considered to be thousand times genuine and powerful than above said associations' heads. What if they desert their favourite heroes like above silly Fans? Although the heroes may not feel it a loss, considering the moral values and responsibilities, it's certainly a loss for those heroes. God is always greater than a devotee. But then, the gods some times should give up their egos for the sake of their devotees. Great instances in our mythologies as well!!
