Dhanush-Sekhar Kammula's Kuberaa opened up to positive talk right from the first show.
However while the collections in Telugu states is picking up slowly and steadily as people started going to the theatres to watch the crime drama on the big screen thanks to the word of mouth and good reviews, the situation is not so rosy in Tamil Nadu.
Though the reviews are good and critics are heaping praises on the film, Tamil Tambis are not showing interest in the film. This is surprising all as Dhanush is the top star in Kollywood. Some feel, Sekhar Kammula is an unknown entity in Tamil but that is not an excuse.
Some say, Tamil Tambis are treated to such films for long and are used to see Dhanush in such roles earlier and this offered nothing new for them. To the top of it, the missing logics in the film and convenient screenplay, abrupt ending, not dwelling deep into the financial fraud and bringing it into a logical conclusion might have impacted the film's perfomance in Tamil Nadu.
