Vaadivaasal Joins The List Of Suriya Shelves Films

Kollywood actor Suriya is facing a tough phase in his career, with none of his recent big-budget films achieving blockbuster success. His films Kanguva and Retro failed miserably at the box office, leading to disappointment and changes in his upcoming projects. Suriya had planned a big-budget film based on Mahabharatha's character Karna in Bollywood, which was supposed to be a 3-part series, but it was dropped due to budget constraints after Kanguva's poor performance.

Suriya has also excited a few exciting projects that have now landed in the hands of other actors. He was initially attached to Sudha Kongara's directorial Parasakthi, which is now being made with Siva Karthikeyan. Additionally, Kollywood director Lokesh Kanagaraj had plans to collaborate with Suriya for a superhero-based film, but it seems that Aamir Khan is now set to star in the project.

Suriya's current film, Vaadi Vaasal, directed by Vetrimaaran, is reportedly being dropped, and Simbu might replace Suriya in the lead role. The film, based on the novel by C.S. Chellappa, had generated high expectations when it was announced, but minimal progress has been made, and it's unclear whether the project is truly shelved or just delayed. Fans are eagerly waiting for an official confirmation on the status of Vaadi Vaasal.

Suriya is currently working on Suriya 46, directed by Venky Atluri. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Vaadi Vaasal, Suriya's fans are hopeful that he will bounce back with a successful project soon.
