Making the best of every opportunity that comes in his way to create regional feelings, Telangana Rashtra Samithi supremo K Chandrasekhara Rao described the damage caused to the head regulator of the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme on Saturday, as an 'anti-Telangana act' and demanded that the government trace the vandals and bring them to book.

Addressing the media here, Chandrasekhara Rao questioned whether the State government would tolerate if some one damaged the Sunkesula project. He demanded that Chief Minister K. Rosaiah should take the initiative and find those responsible for the destruction.

Meanwhile, the people of Mahbubnagar district suspected that those from Rayalaseema could be responsible for the sabotage. However, the District Collector said there was no leakage of water because of the damage to the shutters.

Major Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah talked to the Collector over phone and directed him to ensure that the shutters were immediately repaired.

Another Trs leader, Vinod also demanded immediate action to punish those responsible for the damage of the head regulator of the RDS. He said immediate repairs to the project be taken up and round-the-clock patrolling be organized at the project site. He also suggested to the government to issue shoot-at-sight orders at the project site so that there would be no further attempts to damage the project.

Vinod said the State government, which gave shoot-at-sight orders at students of Osmania University for demanding Telangana, could issue similar orders in this case.
