Tension prevailed in Nizamabad as ABVP activists and supporters of  Bharatiya  Janata Party  and Telangana Rashtra Samiti workers  stormed into the house of  PCC president D Srinivas here on Tuesday.

Alleging that the Congress workers are misleading the Dwakra women groups who were present in DS’ house, the agitators tried  to storm  into the  PCC president’s house.

The  police soon swung into action  and dispersed the mob. They soon  dispersed the mob  then gathered  at MDO office and  tried  to  storm  the office. The police present at the  MDO  office had to resort to lathi charge them to quell the agitators.

The  agitators further alleged that some of the names  are missing in the voters  lists.

The  state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) I. V. Subba Rao said there  is no  chance of some of the votes  being  missed out. All  the contesting candidates were  given  five opportunities to go through  the  voters  list.

The situation in Nizamabad Urban is under control  but  still tense,  the police  sources said.
