The Maharashtra police on Tuesday obstructed the 108 ambulances, which were sent by the state government for the Telugu Desam legislators, who have become sick after day-long hunger and dharnas in connection with Babli irrigation project at Bidri in Dharmabad district.

According to sources, the state government has deputed a medical team to treat seven MLAs lodged in ITI Bhavan in Dharmabad after they were reported sick.

However, the Maharashtra police blocked the medical team and 108 ambulances sent by the state government at Bidri in the wee hours of Tuesday.

All the 74 MLAs, including the Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu were house arrested in Dharmabad on Friday.

Earlier, Hindupur MLA Abdul Ghani was admitted to district hospital in Dharmabad as his condition deteriorated. He was administered saline and other medicines.

The Maharashtra government, amid high drama, protests and caning by the police, shifted Chandrababu Naidu and his colleagues from Dharmabad to the Aurangabad Central Jail on Tuesday.
