Kadapa MP Ys Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday morning had a darshan of the presiding deity of the Satyadevudu Temple here before commencing his Odarpu Yatra in East Godavari district.
Jagan sought special pujas performed at the temple. The temple priests also blessed him by reciting exclusive hymns from the Vedas.
Earlier, Jagan was given a ceremonial welcome from the pundits of the temple. Several party MLAs also accompanied Jagan during the darshan at the temple.
Jagan was expected to sympathise with nearly 75 bereaved families of East Godavari district who had suffered losses in the wake of the death of his father Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy.
Jagan went to the family of P Darraiah at Buchchaiahpeta through Ontimaradi Junction and Tondangi villages and expressed his sympathies with the family. He also unveiled a statue of YS Rajasekhar Reddy before returning to the Ontimaradi junction.
Jagan is expected to go to yerakoneru near Tuni in the afternoon after unveiling another statue of Dr YSR at Tongangi. The Kadapa MP is expected to meet the family of Katta Veeraju at T Venkatapuram and the family of Pallela Baburao on Cinema Road.
