Kadapa MP Ys Jaganmohan Reddy will launch his Odarpu Yatra on July 8 from Srikakulam. This was disclosed to the media by PCC secretary Ambati Rambabu here on Wednesday.
It is learnt that Jagan will pay a visit to YSR Ghat in Indupalapai on July 6 before launching the yatra.
He will leave for Srikakulam by Faluknama Express on July 7. After completing his yatra in Srikakulam district, Jagan will proceed to East Godavari on July 10. The Odarpu yatra will last for four days in East Godavari district.
According to sources, Congress president Sonia Gandhi neither approved the yatra nor turned down the plan.Veerappa Moily, the AICC general secretary who is incharge of Andhra Pradesh declined to comment on Jagan’s yatra.
Jagan during his recent meeting with Sonia Gandhi pleaded with her that the yatra will in no way have a bearing on the party. He made it clear to Sonia Gandhi that he had no intention of splitting the party or joining any force like the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Sonia gave a patient hearing to Jagan and was silent on the matter. She netiher gave him a positive signal nor did she ask him to shelve the yatra plan. She asked him to meet Veerappa Moily on this matter.
