The people are burdened with the spiralling prices of essential comodities. As if this is not enough, the Congress-led UPA Government has further raised the prices of petroleum products, stated Telugu Desam party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday.

The Government has been waiting to nail the consumer wherever possible and raising prices of essential comodities without bothering for the common man, Naidu blurted out.

The country's agricultural growth has been stilted and the essentials are beyond the reach of the common man because of the prices. While the people were counting on the Government's efforts to regulate the prices, the Government has been trying to raise the cost of the essentials, Naidu fumed.

The Congress government has revised the prices of petroleum products by 13 times. At one time, the State made an income of Rs. 12,000 crore through revenue and now the present Government brought the figure to Rs 36,000 crore in the form of taxes from the common man. ``This is how the Congress Government works,'' he lamented.
