In the wake of spike in Covid cases, Telangana government has taken decisions to shut down schools and colleges from March 24 untill further notice. The decision is applicable to both government and private colleges except for medical colleges. The decision has come on the rise of second wave in Telangana as cases have been increasing after the opening of the educations institutions.
The announcement was made by education minister Sabitha Indira Reddy in the Assembly floor. During the announcement, the minister said that the parents have expressed concern over Children’s safety and the decision has also come in after the increase in number of cases in the City daily. Thus the educational institutions will remained closed until further notices.
It may be reaclled that nearly 200 students have contracted coronavirus last week. And how many stundets have tested psotiive in the enitre sate is not knonw. Meanwhile, Telangana Health Department has stopped issuing updates on number of cases on dialy basis since November 2020.
