Great expectations for Legislative Council polls were well lost on Saturday.Pradesh Congress Committee president D. Srinivas and former minister Shabbir Ali were in for a rude jolt as they did not figure in the MLC nominations.
The State Congress president made the announcement to newsmen that the MLC seat from Hyderabad would go to MS Prabhakar, a close aide of Health Minister Danam Nagender. He is also the son of former minister Shyam Rao.
In a coup of sorts, Mana party chief Kasani Gnaneswar was roped in by the Congress to fight from Ranga Reddy district. With this move, he unofficially aligned with the Congress.
The third MLC seat has been left to the MIM party by the Congress. These announcements, obviously at the party high Command's behest, has caused heart-burn to the PCC president who himself was a hot contender for an MLC ticket.
Consequently what has been made crystal clear is that D Srinivas would not make it to the Cabinet in the near future.
