'Passport' to Sania-Shoaib marital bliss not ready yet

The much-publicized Nikkah (marriage) of Indian ace tennis player Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik would take place on Friday (April 9) evening and not on April 15.  

The wedding that has become the talk of the town will be held at 7 p.m. at the Mirza’s residence. As of now, the reception is scheduled for April 15 at Hotel Taj Krishna.

Kazi Ahmetullah Pasha, under whose observation the divorce between Ayesha Siddiqui and Shoaib Malik was formalised, would administer the solemn oath here in the evening.

 However, uncertainty about the marriage still prevails as the religious head who will solemnise the marriage is urging Shoaib to present his passport  during the marriage. ``The pasport is a must at the time of wedding, according to the formalities we follow, ’’ the religious head said.

Shoaib’s passport is now in the hands of the police who seized it following a case filed by Ayesha Siddiqui.The news of the marriage came  just a day after Shoaib Malik gave divorce to Ayesha Siddiqui.

The marriage ceremony will be a close-knit affair and the celebrations will surely be of a grand order. Dressed up in a Nikhil and Shantanu creation, Sania is stated to go in for a subtle make-up and may apply the much raved about Arabic mehendi.

With the arrival of Shoaib's mother and other family members on Wednesday night, hectic activity was seen at Sania's house on Thursday. Preparations have begun to treat the Pakistani guests with biryani and other lip-smacking Hyderabadi dishes.
