Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday criticized the Telangana Rashtra Samiti for foiling its membership drive by launching an organized campaign in Telangana region.

Talking to reporters after launching a membership drive in Rangareddy district along with district party chief Mahender Reddy and senior leader Devender Goud at NTR Trust Bhavan, Naidu called upon party workers to focus on admitting backward class people, women and youth as members in the drive.

Indicating that the TRS had launched a vitriolic campaign against TDP, Naidu asked the party leaders to sink their differences and make efforts to strengthen the party at the grass-roots. He told the cadres not to involve themselves in infighting during the membership drive. The party high command would initiate disciplinary action against those who indulge in factionalism, he stated.

He asked the leaders to make the membership drive a huge success by setting a target of 20 per cent more against last year. He asked the party cadre to complete the membership drive by April 20 in all the Assembly constituencies.

TDP senior leader Devender Goud said none has the moral right to question TDP's stand on Telangana statehood.
