Hyderabad, July 16 :-

The Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Thursday arrested the Additional Chief Town Planning Officer of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Purushottam Reddy, on charge of amassing wealth.

The ACB special teams unearthed assets worth over Rs 20 crore owned by Reddy after conducting simultaneous raids in Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Bhuvanagiri.

During the raid the officials found that Purushottama Reddy had properties in excess of his known sources of income.

Sources in ACB said the Chief Town Planning Officer also owned farm land, houses, plots and jewellery. The officials found Rs 5 lakh cash from his house.

Sources said ACB officials had done a survey of his assets before initiating the search operation, and then got a warrant against the accused to nab him with adequate evidence. Officials said they were likely of coming across more assets in terms of cash and jewellery.

The official is being produced before a local special court.
