Assembly Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday indicated that the Chief Minister had taken his permission and had not left the House in a huff the previous day.

The Speaker made the clarification after Opposition parrties and Majlis-e Ittihad al-Muslimin (MIM) member Akbaruddin Owaisi alleged that the Chief Minister had insulted the Opposition Leader and the House on Friday by leaving the House abruptly during a debate on the budget.

“The Chief Minister is not following rules. he has set a bad precedent by leaving the House abruptly. He is insulting both the Opposition Leader and the House,” the MIM leader alleged.

However, Chief Minister K Rosaiah said he had not insulted the House and Opposition Leader and took prior permission from the Speaker before leaving the House.

Rosaiah said he left the House as he had to address an important issue in the Legislative Council on Friday.

He said he would respect all elected members, Opposition Leader N Chandrababu Naidu and the Speaker.

“I have no intention of insulting anybody. I respect all members, Opposition Leader and the Speaker,” he said.

“If any one is hurt, I apologise before them,” he added.

Meanwhile, Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao expressed displeasure over the remarks of MIM member Owaisi against the Chief Minister.

The Minister read out the copy of Speaker’s permission to the Chief Minister. Later, the House continued its business.
