Kadapa, Feb 3: The people’s representatives on Wednesday expressed their resentment over the howlers incorporated by survey officials while collecting family details in the district.At a district review meeting, convened under the chairmanship of district in-charge Minister Galla Arunakumari, Mydhukuru MLA D L Ravindra Reddy suggested to the Minister to discuss drinking water problem and ration cards on priority basis.He said the poor beneficiaries were facing problems due to official neglect in entering data.

Consequently, genuine beneficiaries were losing subsidised rice supplied through fair price shops.He urged the minister to direct officials to rectify the errors and issue temporary cards until an alternative arrangement is made. He asked the Minister to allot open fair price shops exclusively for women to contain irregularities in public distribution system.Joint Collector Girija Shankar said the officials cancelled 41,000 suspected bogus cards. Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy directed the tahsildar to verify the bogus cards and provide cards for eligible beneficiaries.Galla Arunakumari said the drinking water problem in Produtur would be solved after taking up the issue with Chief Minister K Rosaiah.Union Minister of State for Steel Sai Prasad, Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Ahmadulla, MLAs Srikanth Reddy, Amaranath Reddy, Srinivasulu, Kamalamma, Adinarayana Reddy, MLCs Changal Rayudu, Vivekananda Reddy and district officials attended the meeting.
