JAC dharna on twin demands

Hyderabad, Feb 2: The all-party Telangana Joint Action Committee on Tuesday urged the Centre to set a clear deadline for the committee appointed to go into T-state issue.Demanding a clear time-frame for the proposed Central committee, the JAC members staged a dharna at the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Assembly premises.The JAC members insisted that the proposed committee stick to a time-frame, which the activists apprehend, may end up like the women's quota bill.

The JAC members threatened to quit their posts if the committee did not materialise by Feb 7. "The Centre should constitute the panel by Feb 7 and set a clear time-frame for its report. These two are our expectations," JAC convener C Kodandaram said.The all-party Telangana MLAs took part in the dharna. TDP politburo member Nagam Janardhana Reddy and TRS leader Harish Rao led the dharna.
