Hyderabad, Jan 29: Holding Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandraskehar Rao responsible for the delay in carving out a separate Telangana state, Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanth Rao criticised the policies adopted by KCR during the Telangana stir.Hanumanth Rao told newspersons on Friday that ``KCR made vain promises to the people of Telangana saying the statehood would be achieved very soon. He kept repeating these promises during every election. Once it did not materialize, he began to threaten the Centre with resignations and set deadlines.`` By setting deadlines and threatening with resignations you cannot achieve Telangana, the  senior MP said.

``The basic problem with KCR is that he did not know how to take the Telangana movement in a proper way. He aligned with various parties during the elections to achieve separate Telangana and delayed the process of Telangana formation,''  Hanumanth Rao  said.``Now that Union Home Minster P Chidambaram made a clear statement on Telangana, the  people of  Telangana can be assured that Telangana will be carved out very soon,’’ the Rajya Sabha MP added.
