Hyderabad,  Jan 26: Amidst the fears from terrorist outfits and Telangana agitation, the  Republic Day Parade at the Parade Grounds, Secunderabad passed off peacefully with hundreds of police personnel maintaining a vigil in and around the parade ground.Governor E S L Narsimhan, who was the chief  guest reviewed the parade and unfurled the national flag on Tuesday.

The Governor in his Republic Day message appealed  to the people  of Andhra Pradesh to maintain peace and harmony so that the state can make progress on the economic front as well as on the industrial front.He gave a call to the people to build an "equitable and just society with a sense of brotherhood and love as well as compassion in our hearts".Bestowed with rich natural resources and efficient human resources, Andhra Pradesh made  big strides in the overall development and has emerged as a role model for other states.

"I am confident that the onward march of the state will continue and people will be in the forefront of the mission to build a strong, prosperous, harmonious, vibrant and resurgent Andhra Pradesh,’’ said the Governor.Not only in the  field of agriculture and  industry, the  state was a trend setter, but even in  handling the extremist threat in the country. He was all praise  for anti-extremist elite force Greyhound commandos for their work in putting down the Maoists.
