Ysrcp president and Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that he would participate in the candle light march at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam on January 26 night seeking Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh.

"Arrest me if you want. But our fight will go on," said Jagan while condemning the TDP Government for not permitting the candle light protest. Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, Jagan accused the TDP Government of suppressing the movement seeking SCS for AP. He said that Andhra Pradesh could progress only if gets the Special Category Status, he asked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to explain the reasons why industries would come to the state if they are not offered incentives like exemptions from Income Tax and Excise Duty. Industries do not come on the face value of Chandrababu Naidu, he said.

The Ysrcp chief said special package was no alternate to the Special Category Status.
