Hyderabad, Jan 19: In a bid to  step up the administration in the state, Chief Minister K Rosaiah will hold a two-day conference with District Collectors from Wednesday.Interacting with the media here on Tuesday, Revenue Minister D Prasada Rao said on the first day of the conference the CM would discuss with the  collectors on seasonal conditions, drought, flood relief, power supply and civil supplies which includes price rise.

Other programmes to be discussed on the  first day are implementation of welfare programmes for SCs/STs/BCs/Minorities and disabled, Rs 2 per kg rice scheme, 'Indiramma' housing, pensions and co-contributory pension scheme ''Abhayahastham' Referring  to the schemes like the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), the Minister said there is no dearth of funds for such schemes. ''The state has spent only over Rs 3,000 crore in the first nine months as against the allocation of Rs 6,000 crore.

There is ample scope for speeding up the spending under NREGS for creating wage employment to the landless labourers in the  rural areas,'' he explained.On the final day of the conference, the Chief Minister would have one-to-one meeting with the District Collectors in the morning before the formal meeting to discuss industrial development and implementation of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), among other subjects.``Finally, the CM will hold discussions with the Superintendents of Police pertaining to the law and order situation in their respective  districts,’’ the minister added.
