In a letter addressed to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Kcr said that the NITI Aayog had recommended central assistance of Rs 5000 Cr by the Centre for the Mission Kakatiya during the next three years for Telangana. The aim of the programme by the State is similar to that of the schemes of conservation of waters and to increase ground water table by the Union Water Resources Ministry across the nation, Kcr stated.

The Chief Minister also urged the Centre to extend help for the backward districts as per the AP Reorganization Act. He had already sought Rs 30,571-cr Central assistance for the Mission Bhagiratha for providing drinking water to villagers and lakes revival under Mission Kakatiya which is being lauded by many States.
