Vijayawada, Jan 4: The Railway officials here are taking precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incident in view of Tuesday's proposed Rail-Roko call given by the joint action committee (JAC) of Samaikhyandhra Parirakshana Samiti and the JAC for separate Telanagna.The Railway police along with the city police are making elaborate arrangements to prevent destruction to public property. The police are gearing up for the smooth passage of trains coming and passing through the station.

City Police Commissioner MM Bhagawat and Vijayawada Railway division security commissioner Sanjay Kumar Mishra on Monday jointly reviewed the situation. It was decided to take the assistance of Krishna, East and West Godavari district police in this regard.A company of Railway Protection Special Force has reached the city, informed Mishra to newsmen. All trains would be provided security, he said adding cases would be slapped on those who indulge in destruction to the Railway property under Section 174 clause 2. The guilty would attract jail sentence up to six months.
