Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Captain N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the remarks of Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on morality were inappropriate.

Uttam Kumar Reddy pointed out that the Governor, in his address to the joint session of Telangana Assembly and Council on Thursday, has tried to project TRS Government as too pious. "Our Legislature is the sanctum sanctorum of Democracy," the Governor said while addressing the legislators which included members who defected from other parties to TRS in open violation of Anti-Defection Law. The Governor himself did not take any action on several petitions submitted by the opposition parties against the MLAs and MLCs who defected to other parties, he said.

"Without having a sense of any accountability, the Governor is trying to lecture others on the importance of Legislature and Democracy. Strangely, Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudan Chary and Council Chairman Swamy Goud were seated next to the Governor. Both of them remained inert on the disqualification petitions filed against MLAs and MLCs who defected to TRS showing utter disrespect to the Constitution and Law," he said.

Further, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Governor, Assembly Speaker and Council Chairman should do a serious introspection on their behaviour and inaction against those violating the law. "TRS Government was reprimanded by High Court on multiple occasions for tampering with the existing Laws by issuing GOs. Instead of taking court's observations seriously, the government banned the website on GOs so as to shield its illegal moves. The Governor remained silent on the open suppression of people's Right to Information by the TRS Government," he said.

The TPCC Chief said that the Governor's address to the joint session of Telangana Legislature was purely customary and aimed at hushing up the anti-democratic activities of TRS Government.
