Hyderabad,Dec 29: Reiterating their stand on Telangana issue,  ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Sridhar Babu ruled out withdrawing their resignations unless the Centre announces a categorical time-frame or makes a positive statement to everyone’s satisfaction on the T-issue. Consequently, the ministers from Telangana region will keep away from the Cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday, the ministers clarified.The Congress leaders of Telangana region met at Golkonda Resorts here on Tuesday to discuss the future course of action on Telangana issue.


The meeting which was attended by MPs, MLAs, ministers besides district-level leaders sought to press for a time-frame decision on Telangana from the Centre.Ministers Komitireddy Venkat Reddy and Sridhar Babu speaking on the occasion said they met Union Law Minister M.Veerappa Moily and Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel and pressed for the announcement of a time-frame for the Telangana process.During the course of meeting, the leaders felt that the movement should be spearheaded by the Congress party because it was Sonia Gandhi who initiated the process for the formation of Telangana.

The ministers appraising the leaders of Telangana on their visit to New Delhi said that they held a series of meetings with top Congress leaders including Pranab Mukherjee.With leaders like Jana Reddy,former home minster playing a key role in the Joint Action Committee it remains to be seen how other Congress leaders will take  the initiative to spearhead  this movement.Only a few ministers returned to Hyderabad while some of them stayed back in Delhi to meet Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.
