Hyderabad, Dec 26:  Pressing for an early decision on Telangana statehood, the all-party Joint Action Committee of Telangana is contemplating to call for an indefinite shutdown in the Telangana districts from December 29.Seeking clarification on the statement over the Telangana issue, the Jac served a notice to the Centre urging it to come out with a clear stand on Telangana specifying the time-frame.During  the Jac meeting, Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K  Chandrasekhar Rao called for an indefinite shutdown from December 29 in case the Centre fails to  respond to their ultimatum. However, his suggestion was deferred following differences over the indefinite bandh.Congress leaders who are also part of the Jac, deferred their stand on the proposed indefinite bandh.Congress MP Madhu Yashki Goud said Jac decided against calling the shutdown in view of the 10th day of Muharram falling on Dec 28.

Madhu Yashki Goud told reporters that Congress leaders from Telangana would hold further discussions with the High Command on  Saturday. The Jac,which dropped its bandh plan for Friday in view of  Christmas, appealed to the people to continue protests in a peaceful manner.Differences erupted within 24 hours of the formation of the Jac. Sensing that the TRS is playing a major role in the Jac,the TDP chief said that they would chalk out their own programme to spearhead the Telangana movement.Reacting sharply to Chandrababu’s statement, TRS MLA Harish Rao  alleged that Babu was trying to dilute the Telangana movement.Other TRS  leaders like N Narasimha Reddy appealed to TDP leaders of Telangana to fight unitedly for the cause of Telangnana.
