Speaking in the assembly during the budget session, the Chief Minister said that the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was developed during the Congress regime only.

During the Congress regime, the Outer Ring Road was developed with a width of 150 ft. About 30 parks were developed in the city and 5 lakes were upgraded by removing encroachments, he added.

The Telugu Desam Government had failed to bring Krishna water to Hyderabad during its 9 year rule. If the TDP comes to power, the city would become another Bholakpur, he lashed out. The government would also develop Musi river in Hyderabad on the lines of lakes in Europe and make Hyderabad as international destination for tourists.

He said the former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao Express way would be opened for public on October 2. The Chief Minister said the government has taken up Rs 20,000 crore works for development of twin cities with international standards.

The government would bring 1,000 volvo buses in six months to reduce commuter problems.

He alleged that due to narrow mindedness, the Telugu Desam Party has not developed city upto the mark. That’s why people also rejected the TDP in the recently held assembly elections, he said.

For this the TDP members objected and said the maximum development of Hyderabad city was took place during the TDP regime only.

Following the Chief Minister’s comments, the House witnessed arguments and counter arguments between ruling and TDP members.
