New Delhi/Hyderabad,Dec 10:``The  process to initiate the formation of Telangana is on but I don't think that the state will be divided immediately, said Union Home Minister P Chidambaram clarifying the statements he made earlier on Thursday.Explaining the statements he made earlier, the Union Home minister said,the resolution on Telangana will be moved. It does not mean that it will be moved immediately because there is a process for this and there are several stages in the process.People from other regions also need to be consulted before the passage of resolution according   statehood  to Telangana.Meanwhile the Andhra Pradesh  Chief  Minister K. Rosaiah said that the resolution on Telangana state would be tabled in the assembly only after  due consultations.

The CM advised MPs and legislators not to get carried away over the issue and resign as the process of moving a resolution has  not yet been initiated."If necessary,the resolution will be moved in the assembly only if it gets majority support," he told reporters.The chief minister said the central leadership of the party was monitoring the developments."Sonia Gandhi has called a meeting of Andhra and Rayalaseema regions this evening," he said.As many as 45 legislators of the ruling Congress, 17 of the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and 11 of the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) have reportedly quit or offered to resign, saying they did not want to support the resolution to be tabled in the assembly for formation of Telangana state.
