New Delhi, Dec 9: The Centre on Wednesday evening appealed to Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao to end his ‘fast-unto-death’ immediately.The appeal came after a high-level meeting comprising Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi and other senior Congress leader on the troubled Telangana issue.Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily who is also the Congress Party in-charge for Andhra Pradesh affairs told waiting reporters outside Parliament House,

 "We would like to make an appeal to K.Chandrasekhar Rao to immediately end his fast. The Government is seized of the matter."Moily refused to divulge any details about what transpired at the high-level confabulations involving the party’s core committee members.The meeting was attended by Home Minister P Chidambaram, Defence Minister A K Antony and senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel among other s.Chief Minister K Rosaiah is expected to meet the Prime Minister and Mrs Sonia Gandhi and discuss the latest developments in the state.
