Lawyers rally

Khammam, Dec. 8: The lawyers affiliated to the Telangana Lawyers Forum in the District court on Tuesday struck work in protest against the lathicharge on media persons and students in Hyderabad. They also took out a rally from the Court Complex to the Collectorate via Ellandu cross-roads and Wyra road before submitting a memorandum to the District Reevenue Officer.

Raising slogans against the government, the lawyers also sat on a relay hunger strike in front of the collector’s office seeking separate Telangana. Lawyer Suguna Rao said the Centre should direct the state to pass a resolution on Telangana in the Assembly. “We will continue the agitation for Telangana till a separate state is formed,” he said.Meanwhile, the TRS activists waylaid the vehicle of the collector Ms. Usha Rani in Ellandu in support of their demand.The police arrested the protestors.
