Mysore,Nov 30: Despite the danger that is knocking the doors of his million-dollar mining business, the Tourism and Infrastructure Development Minister,Mr Galli Janardhan Reddy has put up a brave face on Monday and asserted that there was no countdown for Reddy brothers as claimed by Opposition parties.“We will deal with ourdetractors with an iron hand,”an undisturbed Mr Reddy told media persons here.Mr.Janardhan Reddy, who has initially welcomed the CBI probe ordered at the initiation of the Andhra Pradesh Government or a probe by anyinternational agency, has toned down the issue and lashed out at the Opposition parities – the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) –in Karnataka and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh--for making Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) issue a political plank.

“They are jealous of the BJP’s growing prominence in the State, especially envied against our growth as both entrepreneurs and politicians. And thus, they are trying to topple us.But all these challenges will only make the party and us stronger. The BJP will be in power for 50 years,” he said on the sidelines of additional tourist facilities inauguration at Krishnaraja Sagar Dam and Rive View resorts owned by the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC).Already Lokayukta has investigated the mining irregularities in the State and submitted an exhaustive 1,600-page report to the State Government, which sought clarifications from 33 mining lease owners and Raising Contracts. Besides, the Forest Department has initiated action and the mining owners accordingly have moved the High Court and obtained stay orders against the objections. Even the Survey of India (SI) has expressed satisfaction over the quantum of business. So what is the need for a fresh probe?,” Mr Reddy asked. He suggested the Opposition parties engage themselves in productive issues instead of wasting their time on conspiring against the BJP.

And,calling the TDP supremo,Mr N Chandrababu Naidu,a “useless creature”,the minister said that Mr Naidu was in need of a mental help.“He should be sent for a mental asylum for some time,” he remarked. He said that neither the Congress-JD(S) tie-up,nor the recent internal bickerings nor the OMC tussle will stop BJP from sweeping the forthcoming MLC elections.Every time Opposition throws a challenge, the BJP was up-to it and emerged victorious,Mr Janardhan Reddy observed. He refused to comment on the rumors that the Health Minister,Mr B Sriramulu,is lobbying to become the Mysore district-in-charge minister’s post.“The party high command will take a decision on the matter,” he added.
