T-Congress slams TRS Govt for rider on farm loans waiver

Telangana Congress leaders on Thursday accused the TRS Government of going back on its promise of waiving off farm loan up to Rs one lakh.

Addressing seperate press conference, Telangana Congress leaders K Jana Reddy, D Srinivas and DK Aruna said that the TRS Government should not impose any pre-conditions on loan waiver scheme. They said that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao did not mention anything about the periodicity of loans which would be waived off. However, after assuming the charge as the Chief Minister of Telangana, KCR changed his tone and imposed a rider stating that loans taken only during 2013-14 would be waived off.

Jana Reddy said that many farmers have secured not more than Rs 25,000 loan in the year 2013-14 while their outstanding for previous years is much higher. Therefore, the TRS Government should not cheat the farmers by imposing pre-conditions.
