Khammam, Nov 25 (INN): Communist Party of India district secretary Bhagam Hemantha Rao on Wednesday threatened to launch an agitation on Friday against the irregularities in Bayyaram iron ore mining in the district.The government “should stop exploring iron ore at Bayyaram,” he demanded.Speaking to media persons, Rao said Cpi activists would stage a dharna at mandal headquarters demanding that the government compensate the farmers for the the crop loss immediately.

The state government has sanctioned Rs. 6.22 crore for crop loss in the district although the district administration had estimated the crop loss at Rs.1000 crore.“The government should pay Rs.15, 000 per acre to each farmer who lost crop,'' he demanded.Hemantha Rao blamed the government for the increasing fevers in the district and many people had died due to these.“The government should pay Rs. 5,000 to the kin of each victim of fever,” he demanded.
