Danam seeks clarification on UT status demand

Labour Minister Danam Nagender on Monday asked the Seemandhra leaders to explain as what they mean by demanding Union Territory status to Hyderabad.

Talking to reporters at the office of Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee's office here, Danam said that there were two models of Union Territories in the country. While Delhi has its own Assembly and administration, Chandigarh presents a non-political model. Therefore, the Seemandhra leaders should clarify on what kind of arrangement they were seeking by asking UT status for Hyderabad.

Earlier, Danam along with other Congress leaders paid floral tributes to former Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy on his fourth death anniversary. Danam described YSR's death as a big loss to the State and country. He said the present chaos in the State was due to YSR's untimely death and his absence was being felt by everyone.
