Hyderabad,Nov 13:The Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) on Friday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the murky deals allegedly associated with the Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) owned by Karnataka Tourism Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy.PRP supremo and actor Chiranjeevi who submitting a memorandum to Chief Minister K Rosaiah at his residence on Friday morning,told media persons that the government should come clean on the issue and order a CBI probe into the charges.

He urged the Chief Minister to scrap the mining deal with the OMC,seize all the records and take action against the company for ‘siphoning’ the State’s resources.The three-member committee appointed by the state to probe the deal would not serve any purpose, he stated as he doubts the credibility of the report if it was submitted by the committee.He asked the government to appoint an experts committee from the Centre to probe the issue.If the government fails to respond properly to the issue, the PRP would enlarge its agitation across the state, he warned and made it clear that he would not attend the all-party meeting convened to discuss bunglings in the deal with OMC.

Meanwhile, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, S D L Mishra who heads the three-member expert committee along with co-members and additional chief conservators of Forest Sharma, Omkar Singh held discussions with District Forest Officer Kallol Biswas on the alleged irregularities.The officials verified the records of the mining company and papers pertaining to the laying of roads in the reserve forest. The team will also probe the illegal mining and transportation of high grade iron ore.
