Former PCC president K Keshava Rao on Tuesday denied allegations that he was trying to exploit the Congress MPs for his own political gains.

Talking to media persons at his residence, Keshava Rao clarified that he was not aspiring to become a member of Parliament by encouraging defections in Congress party. Further, he said he was not seeking any ticket for his son or other family members as being reported by a section of media. He said that his sole aim was to achieve statehood for Telangana region and he would support any party or individual who supports the statehood cause. He said that was the reason why he in touch with the TRS leadership.

Accusing the Congress High Command of going back on the promise of formation of Telangana, he described the party's move as an insult for the people of Telangana. He said that the Congress MPs have sought more time to take a final decision on their future course of action.
