No need to postpone Telangana March: Palwai

Rajya Sabha member Palwai Govardhan Reddy on Wednesday said that there was no need to postpone the Telangana March and asked the government to give permission for the same.

Criticising the State Government's attitude and approach towards the Telangana March, Palwai Govardhan Reddy said that he would take up the issue with the Congress High Command. Talking to media persons in Assembly premises before proceeding to New Delhi, he said that the Telangana political Joint Action committee was organizing the Telangana March in a democratic and peaceful manner and the government has to take steps for providing security for the same.

Defending Congress emissary Vayalar Ravi's statement that the decision on Telangana state needs some more time as the government was occupied with FDI and other issues, he said that Ravi did not speak against the bifurcation.

MLA K Lakshma Reddy appealed to the TPJAC to shift the location of Telangana March if it was not possible to defer it as Ganesh immersion and biodiversity conference were falling on September 29 and October 1. He asked the TPJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram to reconsider his decision on March.
