Minister for Primary Education S Sailajanath on Friday stated that the Congress party would not pay attention to the statements of YSR Congress Party leaders.

Talking to media persons at assembly premises, Sailajanath took serious note on the comments of Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy that a few Congress leaders were in touch with the YSRCP and waiting for an opportunity to join it. He asked Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy to disclose the names of those Congress leaders instead of issuing threatening statements.

Stating that former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was a Congress leader, he said that former government advisor K V P Ramachandra Rao’s outburst on not placing YSR’s photo at Gandhi Bhavan during youth Congress meeting was nothing but an emotional attachment towards the departed leader.

Stating that the State would remain united, the Minister said that the Centre has not discussed anything about the bifurcation of State. Responding to Telugu Desam leader Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy demand for separate Rayalaseema, he termed it as "old demand". He also dismissed Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao's statement that the Centre would announce a decision on Telangana state formation by September 30.

He said that the government would take a decision on counseling schedule of engineering colleges soon after discussing about the consequences of SC verdict on common fee for convener and management quota seats.
