Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana on Wednesday said that the CPI would not extend support to anybody in the Presidential elections scheduled to be held in July.

Talking to media persons, Narayana stated that the party would not take part in the elections in protest against the delay in the formation of Telangana State. He accused the UPA's Presidential nominee Pranab Mukherjee of being responsible for delaying the statehood to the region.

The CPI leader also came down heavily on the State Government for transferring the officials in a haphazard manner in order to shield the tainted ministers. If the government has any sincerity and commitment, he challenged the government to suspend the tainted ministers from the cabinet and order an impartial probe against them.

He also demanded that Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah resign from his post in the wake of ACB Court issuing summons in connection with lands de-notification at Ameerpet in the state capital.
