Former Rajya Sabha member K Kesava Rao on Friday took serious objection over giving prominence to Rajya Sabha member and cine actor K Chiranjeevi in the party affairs.
Talking to media persons at his residence, Kesava Rao criticized a senior leader's statement before Congress emissary Vayalar Ravi that the Congress party would improve its performance in the by-elections if Chiranjeevi was given prominence in the party affairs. He said that the party would win maximum number of seats if all leaders work collectively in the by-elections instead of giving prominence to Chiranjeevi alone.
Stating that he was not questioning the prominence given to Chiranjeevi, he said the party seniors have to understand the feelings and sentiments of Telangana leaders and focus their attention on addressing their issues. He said that Vayalar Ravi came to the State to gear up the party for by-elections and not for resolving the Telangana statehood issue. "However, we told clearly Ravi that except Telangana state formation, the Telangana leaders are not ready to accept any other alternate," he said.
